What is chalazion?
- A chalazion is a painless bump on your eyelid. It can affect the upper or lower eyelid.
- It means a hailstone. It is a chronic inflammatory granuloma of the meibomian gland.
- Styes are usually painful and chalazia usually aren’t. Chalazia may develop after styes.
Causes of chalazion------
- Blepharitis
- Chronic conjunctivitis
- Blockage in one of the tiny meibomian glands of the upper and lower eyelids.
- Long-term inflammation of the eyelid.
