Fluconazole is a first generation triazole antifungal medications, used for a number of fungal infections.
USE:-
The treatment of non-systemic candida infections of vagina, throat & mouth.
--- Candidiasis
--- blastomycosis
--- Cryptococcosis
--- histoplasmosis
--- Dermatophytosis
HOW WORKS?
Works by blocking the ability of the fungi candida and Cryptococcus to reproduce.
SIDE EFFECTS:-
Drowsiness, headache, diarrhea, liver damage, severe rash, adrenal gland problems------
symptoms are : belly pain, muscle weakness, appetite.
DOSE:-
Depending upon severity mild case- weekly once or moderate case once a day for several days.
severe case- once daily.
INDICATIONS:-
- Hepatotoxicity, hemodialysis, renal dysfunctions.
Anticoagulants or antiplatelet agents such as warfarin, albuterol interact with fluconazole.
